About the Artist - Geronimo Velga

Geronimo has studied Native American Indian ancestry back to the 1800’s when the Great Apache Chief "Geronimo" [1829-1906] was the chief of the Apache tribe. His name was GOYATHLAY, known to the white man as GERONIMO, whom he was named after. He married a young girl brought to him from the Navajo Santa Clara tribe near Pueblo, Mexico.

Together, these two tribes became the single most powerful group in the southwest region. Today, this tribe of ancestors lives above the 12,033 foot timberline high peaks near Flagstaff, Arizona. Mr. Velga visits often to study this ancestry and has collected, bought and been given many ancient pieces including ancient pottery, war clubs, healing devices, paintings on deerskins, carved figurines of women and children, knife blades, face masks, bowls, baskets, arrowheads, ceremonial head dresses and much more.

Geronimo Velga's pastime hobby has always been making Native American Indian and southwestern items. All of his work is the décor of his home. Only a few pieces have been given to a relative as a requested gift. To this day he does not realize his work and value as an artist.

There is nothing else anywhere like his work. Each piece is a masterpiece and different and unique in its own way. Each piece makes a statement and most pieces have 45 to 65 hours of work involved. It will become the center piece of your home and truly carries an ancient spirit which is like a magnet that draws anyone who comes around. People can't help but to just stand and stare at the beauty and the one of a kind hand crafted unique piece of artwork.

Each piece becomes priceless to its owner and you will be so proud and have a feeling of protecting it. There will only be a limited edition available as there is only one artist.
